Our “Dinner with Opera” evenings are a unique and thrilling part of life at the Malt Shovel.
D’Arcy and Anna Bleiker (who sings professionally under her maiden name of Burford) are internationally renowned opera singers, having sung all over the world as soloists. They combine their continuing operatic careers with being joint proprietors of the Malt Shovel alongside D’Arcy’s parents Jane and Jürg.
Their friends and colleagues from Opera North are regularly invited to come over for one of these truly sensational evenings where our customers get to experience close up the full force of a first-class operatic performance.
Singing repertoire from Mozart to Walton, Donizetti to Britten, our performers provide the entertainment for an evening of beautiful food and music that no-one ever forgets.
