The Malt Shovel Cellar boasts a remarkable selection of over 200 wines that have been carefully chosen by us personally for their sheer quality and value for money. Sourced from several Wine Merchants as well as from our own travels around the world, we have created a unique list that ranges from superb quality house wines at £16.50 to the Bordeaux of Chateau Lafite Rothschild and Chateau Lynch Bages amongst others.
Jane and Jürg kept a legendary cellar at The Old Deanery in Ripon and it will come as no surprise to our customers to see this passion continued at The Malt Shovel. Much of their personal collection is featured on the list- these wines have been accrued from various trips to the vineyards themselves and represent the fruit of many arduous wine-tastings over the years!
D’Arcy has inherited his parents’ passion for wine and knows his cellar backwards! He will be delighted to help you make your choice.
We believe it is also important to have fine wines available by the glass and, with our “Verre de Vin” to ensure quality, we are able to offer 175ml or 250ml glasses of wonderful wines such as New Zealand Sauvignons and fine Clarets.
